Ghana Independence Day |
March 06 is Ghana Independence Day.
Ghana achieved independence from Britain in 1967. It was the first sub-Saharan country to break free from colonial rule and as such the day is a source of enormous national pride. The Ghanian community is one of London's most established West African communities. According to the 2021-2022 census there are 135,854 Ghanaian nationals living in the United Kingdom with the majority residing in London: Lambeth, Haringey, Croydon - and Newham. Within Newham the Ghanaian community is very active in social and culture activities.
Sending Best Wishes to everyone celebrating.
